In August 2020, when lockdown restrictions had just been eased, my beautiful 22-year-old son, Robbie, took his own life. Robbie chose a permanent solution to a temporary problem and his family, friends and teachers have been left wondering why someone with such a lot to live for could have made this decision. His limitless potential, boundless energy and his gentle soul were lost to us forever. ‘Reps for Robbie’ fundraising challenge

King’s School, Canterbury have set up a working group to discuss fundraising ideas for R World. Their first fundraiser is the brilliant REPS FOR ROBBIE. The idea is that as many people as possible will take part and do something to raise money for R World, such as a 5K a day on the bike or running or anything which the lockdown rules will allow. We’ve funded our first ‘train the trainer’ at Nottingham University

Our first R World funded lecturer, Nottingham University’s Nick Clare who was Robbie’s personal tutor, is now a qualified Mental First Aid Instructor. He is piloting the R World programme for us and is leading the way for universities. His students will now be taught Mental Health First Aid in March or when COVID-19 rules allow it.
