ROBBIE’S LIBRARY IS OFFICIALLY OPEN

In celebration of Robbie’s 28th birthday, we’re incredibly proud to share that the library dedicated to him in Malawi is officially open Thanks to every single person who donated, and to the Brown Munthali Foundation, this dream has become a reality. At R World, we’re committed to creating meaningful impact for communities in need, and we know Robbie would be so proud of what’s been built in his name. In honour of Robbie’s birthday, all donations will go directly in to funding books, computers and furniture to grow the library’s resources. Happy Birthday, Robbie.

New website for our partner the Brown Munthali Foundation

A wonderful new website has been launched by the BMF.  Read all about the good work they do in the community to help the vulnerable children, many of them orphans. The library project is their most ambitious  project to date and is set to help everyone in the region. Brown has important plans for the library and R World intends to continue to give them a hand up and support their work by applying for grants and seeing if we can get encourage some English schools to form partnerships. Now an NGO, it should help their status in terms of […]

2000 books and 6 computers arrive in Chitimba from R World

The books and computers arrive On 20/06/2025, 2050 books and 6 computers arrived in Chitimba having set off from Canterbury in February 2025. What a journey. Instead of them arriving at a port near Malawi, preferably in Tanzania or Mozambique, Books2Africa sent them to Durban in South Africa! They therefore have travelled by road through Zimbabwe and Mozambique and arrived in Blantyre, 505 miles and over 13 hours away from the final destination of Chitimba. Brown has had to negotiate with the authorities to exempt the Brown Munthali Foundation from the extortionate duty the customs authorities wanted to charge – […]

Progress so far

It never gets easier to accept, but from the bottom of our hearts we want to thank you for all of your continued support throughout these years. 💙 We have achieved so much with R World in his memory, and we know he’d be so grateful to everyone who has played a part in this journey. From runs, cycles, and moustache growing, to funding first aid for mental health training for over 50 lecturers and teachers. Not only this, but we have now built a community library in Chitimba, Malawi. Our next goal is to raise £3500 to fill the […]

Two Worlds Meet

Last month Robbie’s mum Lesley, the founder of R World, embarked on an incredible adventure to Malawi to see the incredible work that the Brown Munthali Foundation have been doing in the village of Chitimba. Lesley was given a warm welcome from Brown and the community; greeted with a ceremony to celebrate her arrival. She was lucky enough to spend time with the lovely community, visit the site of the library that we have been raising funds for and see the progress of the development first hand. Lesley also went to the tree that has been planted in Robbie’s memory […]
