R World is raising money to build a library in a remote region of Malawi where Brown Munthali, certainly the most driven but poorest man I have ever known, has set up an orphanage and is responsible for housing, feeding and educating over 70 orphans and vulnerable children. London marathon fundraiser

At the end of April we had Laurence run the London Marathon in an incredible 4 hours 2 minutes, all in memory of Robbie. We are always so grateful to everyone who continues to support and raise awareness and money for R World in Robbie’s honour.

Poetry competition at Simon Langton School

We are honoured that The Simon Langton School, Canterbury have run a poetry competition to celebrate Robbie’s life. It was judged by Patricia Novillo-Corvalan, (Reader in Comparative Literature at the University of Kent) and the winners will be announced shortly. As we start this new year, we wanted to reflect on everything we achieved and all those who have supported R World in 2022. 25 for 25 challenge – Robbie’s 25th birthday

In the month coming up to Robbie’s 25th birthday on the 15th of November, 25 challengers took part in our #25for25 Challenge, raising a whopping £2,288 💙 We had people running, dog walking, litter collecting, dancing, DJ-ing, writing, cycling, rowing and so much more! Thank you SO much to everyone who took part and to all those who donated. We continue to be overwhelmed by your incredible support to our cause. Thanks to you we can make positive change where it really matters. Here’s to you guys! 🍻✨

Robbie’s poems

The Deeds Tree and other poems. One of Robbie’s goals in lockdown was to write a compendium of poems and his book ‘The Deeds Tree and other poems’ has now gone to print with 50 hardback copies ordered. All donations will go towards planting 25 trees (native to the country) in places which were important to him. We hope that we can arrange this in Sri Lanka, Africa, India and Nepal as well as Wales and various places in England. World Mental Health Day

Today is World Mental Health Day and 2022’s theme is ✨Awareness, Belonging & Connection✨. Awareness highlights the importance of learning the signs of declining mental health within yourself, as well as others, so you know when to take action. Although signs can be incredibly difficult to spot and can vary for everyone, look out for those who may be socially withdrawn, having emotional outbursts, struggling to sleep and increasingly partaking in numbing behaviours e.g. substance abuse. Claire Rumsey’s marathon

Exciting announcement! ✨ On Sunday October 2nd, Claire Rumsey completed the virtual London Marathon in aid of R World. Claire’s route started by Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys (where Robbie attended), passed Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School and continued alongside the river Stour to Wye, finally finishing by Robbie’s memorial tree. Claire raised an incredible £600 for the foundation and we’re so grateful for all of her hard work and training behind the scenes!
