We are so pleased to have formed a partnership with Gillingham Anchorians Hockey Club thanks to Harry McDonald, Head of Junior coaching who was a friend of Robbie’s, both at school and university. R World is funding a teacher from the club to do the First Aid for Mental Health Instructor training and plans are in place for this teacher to train up as many of Gillingham Anchorians’ club members as possible. We are particularly impressed with the fabulous tracksuits displaying our logo and are looking forward to working with the club in the future!
In April, a group of geography alumni who graduated alongside Robbie in July 2019 and who got to know him through a field trip to Berlin, are aiming to collectively cover a distance of 847 miles. This is the distance between the University of Nottingham and Berlin, the two places in which they connected with Robbie. Through 847 miles is their target, this is a baseline and if they can go further they will! They have all come together as they want to honour Robbie’s legacy in a manner that will help support the work we are doing with R […]

In August 2020, when lockdown restrictions had just been eased, my beautiful 22-year-old son, Robbie, took his own life. Robbie chose a permanent solution to a temporary problem and his family, friends and teachers have been left wondering why someone with such a lot to live for could have made this decision. His limitless potential, boundless energy and his gentle soul were lost to us forever. There are many ways in which depression can materialise in people and so it’s important to be aware of all signs. In Robbie’s case it was a quick deterioration. When lockdown began, Robbie, like […]
King’s School, Canterbury have set up a working group to discuss fundraising ideas for R World. Their first fundraiser is the brilliant REPS FOR ROBBIE. The idea is that as many people as possible will take part and do something to raise money for R World, such as a 5K a day on the bike or running or anything which the lockdown rules will allow. This is a great idea not only for R World, but for all of us. If you are able to take part in a REPS FOR ROBBIE fundraising challenge, please let us know. Every £470 will train one […]
Our first R World funded lecturer, Nottingham University’s Nick Clare who was Robbie’s personal tutor, is now a qualified Mental First Aid Instructor. He is piloting the R World programme for us and is leading the way for universities. His students will now be taught Mental Health First Aid in March or when COVID-19 rules allow it.
